The NICH Trust has introduced psychiatric service for the patients of the hospital, since the hospital regularly deals with patients who have experienced a traumatic event requiring expert help and advice for both the parents and patients. Since inception in 2019, over 5000 children have benefitted from this facility.
The National Institute of Child Health Karachi is the 500-bed public sector pediatric hospital serving over 1 Million patients annually. Some patients come from as far away as Baluchistan, Punjab and KPK. It has the largest infant incubator facility as well as the largest pediatric ER in Pakistan. It is the only hospital providing 24 hours pediatric surgical emergency to over 5 million children within its reach with nearly 1,000 children visiting the OPD daily.
