We have introduced the concept of a fully integrated computerized laboratory services, from electronic patient prescription entry to reports being available online in the wards, this has helped reduce the turnaround time for lab reports and resulted in improvement in quality of patient care being provided at the hospital.
The National Institute of Child Health Karachi is the 500-bed public sector pediatric hospital serving over 1 Million patients annually. Some patients come from as far away as Baluchistan, Punjab and KPK. It has the largest infant incubator facility as well as the largest pediatric ER in Pakistan. It is the only hospital providing 24 hours pediatric surgical emergency to over 5 million children within its reach with nearly 1,000 children visiting the OPD daily.
